The Shabby Chic Kuwaiti wedding

The shabby Chic Kuwaiti wedding : I remember when Sama contatacted me for the 1st time, l was in the middle of the wedding planning of my great (and stessful) russian wedding. She knew what she wanted, the style of  wedding she wanted, the colors theme etc.. l remember too when she wrote me about her and Mo, their story, she told me about the kind of guests they will be, her own requests. Very exigent but very trusting and close people. Working with couples like that it’s a blessing.

Sama and Mo wanted a green and coral color palette for their wedding. An elegant and vintage wedding or what is the same a shabby chic wedding. Sama also loved the idea of having outdoors, some pieces of furniture that what supposed to be inside. We set then on the terrace a beautiful, white and ancient-styled collection of furniture composed of a couch with chairs, cushion and a low table. Above a somptuous chandelier with hangind pieces of cristal, a bouquet of coral flowers into a green vase (imported from etsy) placed on the low table and some big candles were finishing the decoration.

That was the perfect relaxing scene for the bride and bridesmaids before the nerves of the ceremony and became after, the perfect lounge (with garlands of lights on the trees switched on) for the smokers :-).

We had 4 months to prepare everything : select the venue, the photographer, videographer, florist, transportation, details and of course the decoration. We had a signature cocktail fitting the color of the wedding (to do it we used peach, rhum and mint), a photocall with bottles of flowers hanging and green and coral ribbons, a vintage american- styled letter box (we loved it) where people could drop their Barcelona postcards full of congratulations and wishes.

We had also an old bike with wood signs in arabic (to tell people where the fun places were), a vintage Earth Globe and a Telescope. And look at the somptuous arch of flowers leading the ceremony, Sama was in love with one of them, and we make it for her 🙂

After the ceremony, to help people walking up through the stairs, we hang some cute pictures of both families on the trees (photo of Sama and Mo when they were kids and more of their parents), and for the seating plan we placed gorgeous different frames on a table painted in green for us on purpose.

For the centerpiece, Sama wanted it simple : different green bottles with different artwork and heights with only baby breath flowers (she loves this flower) and a minimalist touch of coral. We dyed the napkins in green color, personnalized also the menu with their logo and colors. The icing on the cake was (remembering the doubts they had at the beginning) these beautiful wrought iron chairs.

And the best of the best (according my humble opinion) was the sitting. The coolest sitting l ever made (thanks Sama!). We took pictures with a Polaroid to all the guests during the cocktail and we placed the pictures on their table so each people was able to see where their seats were.  And having in bonus a super original record of the wedding.

We don’t forget the WV vintage van… this van has its story too (in fact, could have its own post hehehe) , but let’s get focussed : we found the van and the color they wanted in a last minute requests of Sama and Mo.

Behind a wedding, there are so many details and stories. We wish we could explain them better. Hopefully this post will reflect a little essence of the wedding : a somptuous wedding for a magnificent and adorable couple. My lovely Sama, Mo.. many, many thanks for just being like you are, enjoying 100% all your wedding, smiling for everything. That is the best present for us.
